3 frame stories

Overview

As a family photographer with a passion for capturing connections and moments, I am expanding into the world of creative portraiture to push my boundaries and build deeper connections with fellow creatives. This project, 3 Frame Stories, will capture the essence of creatives in three powerful images: a professional headshot, an environmental portrait that showcases their work, and a bold, creative portrait that explores their identity in a fresh and collaborative way.

What’s the Concept?

This creative portrait project is designed to provide a full, multifaceted view of a person’s creative identity. There will be 2 sessions to create 3 images:

  1. Session One: The first part of the session will focus on capturing the headshot and environmental portrait, where I’ll photograph you in your space or chosen location, surrounded by your work, to highlight your creative practice.
  2. Session Two: The second session will dive deeper into creativity, collaborating to design and create a unique, artistic portrait that showcases you in a new, expressive light.

Before the first session, participants will complete a brief questionnaire to help me better understand their artistic vision and personality, guiding us in creating a collaborative portrait experience.

A series of headshots showing the same person in different expressions and angles outdoors with greenery in background.

Why This Project?

As I shift my focus towards expanding my branding and commercial work, I’m excited to further refine my skills in posing, directing, and capturing authentic, powerful moments. But this project isn't just about the technical aspects of photography; it’s also about fostering meaningful connections with other creatives. By collaborating with artists, entrepreneurs, and other creative individuals, I’m eager to inspire and learn from one another, creating a network that celebrates the diversity and richness of creative expression.

This project is a natural extension of my own creative journey, which began with an exploration into self-portraiture. Last year, I embarked on a personal project where I challenged myself to capture a photo each week, inspired by different themes and word prompts. Through this process, I discovered not only the power of self-reflection but also the unexpected beauty of seeing oneself from a new perspective. It was during this journey that I found how deeply empowering creative portraiture could be—not just as a photographer but as a subject myself.

The experience of creating self-portraits revealed so much about how we perceive ourselves, and it sparked the idea to bring others into that same creative process. This project allows me to combine my personal growth with my professional goals. By working with fellow creatives, I want to empower them to explore how they see themselves—offering them an opportunity to be captured in a way they may never have imagined. Just as self-portraiture transformed my own understanding of creativity, I hope this project will help others see their potential in a completely new light.

Through this collaborative effort, I’m not just honing my craft; I’m creating a space where artistic collaboration meets personal exploration, leading to truly unique and meaningful portraits. This project is about human connection—about seeing ourselves and others through fresh eyes, and celebrating the diversity and depth of the creative journey we all share.

What’s in It for You?

In exchange for your time and participation, you’ll receive three stunning, professionally captured images:

  1. A headshot for your professional or personal use.
  2. An environmental portrait that highlights your creative workspace or craft.
  3. A unique, artistic creative portrait that will not only be a collaborative creative exploration, but something to show you yourself in a way you maybe haven't seen before.

These images will be yours to use for anything you like—whether it’s for your portfolio, social media, or simply a piece of art to celebrate your creative journey.

Why Should You Get Involved?

This project is all about collaboration—each session will be a co-creation between us, where we will explore your creative vision and bring it to life in a way that feels authentic and inspiring. You’ll not only walk away with free professional portraits but also with the experience of participating in a shared creative journey, learning more about yourself in the process.
