Mabel, Sophie & Tom
It's a huge privilege to be invited to photograph a family. To be trusted to document special bonds and capture memories together. Sometimes when photographing a newborn I can be the first visitor into the family's newborn bubble which is such an incredible honour. This was the case with Mabel who I met when she was around a week to ten days old. Since then I've photographed her family 3 more times when she was 6 months, a year old and two years old.
I love each shoot! Mabel's a few months younger than my littlest June so it's always funny how they're at similar stages, and I love seeing what she's up to and into each time. From the oh so adorable newborn Mabel, to the full of expressions Mabel, to the fun 'superbaby' phase (this was a game mum and dad Sophie and Tom played with her at 1 year old), to the cafe-owner making me a cup of tea and 'head, shoulders, knees and toes' performer Mabel.
Catching up with Sophie and Tom her mum and dad is like catching up with friends. Photos are really important to them and capturing these stages in Mabel's development and the little moments and things she's into are the focus of the shoots. Upon receiving the latest gallery Sophie said, 'They are beautiful. I'm so happy we've managed to document her at so many stages, I wish I could relive every moment!'
Here are some of my favourite images from the 4 shoots they've had so far! Honestly looking through all these photos has made me a little bit emotional and I really think seeing them together this way highlights the importance of capturing milestones with a regular shoot.
